Upcoming Bronze Sculptures
I'm delighted to say that I have been commissioned to make a bronze statue of Dorchester's favourite feline, Susie!
ā
Having met her, (and it took 3 trips to find her.... so many comfy beds, windows, office chairs, hospitals, shops, gyms, hairdressers, cafes, to try out for snoozing and having cuddles in... she's a busy kitty!), I can honestly say she is the most chilled out cat I have ever met! She knows everyone loves her and all of Dorchester is hers to wander into. Quite the most extraordinary cat and very beautiful too.
The planning Committee met on the 30th June and voted unanimously for this sculpture to have its planning permission. The finished sculpture is now at the Pangolin Editions Foundry and has been cast into bronze, using their innovative partial vacuum technique, to pick out the fine detail of her etched in dots and stripes. Work to tidy up the metal and weld on a base and threaded bars to both Susie and the Roman tile has begun. I shall oversee the patination in mid October. The unveiling of the Susie sculpture will be Sunday 22nd November 2026, outside Julia's House on South Street, Dorchester DT1 1DD at 12 noon.

I met up with the wax version of Susie to check over on the 13th of August at Pangolin Editions.ā

3 designs currently on my sculptor's bench:
A life sized climbing Pine Marten
A mantling female Barn Owl
A trio of Owls.
Expressions of interest for these are being taken now!

The Pine Marten had a hiatus for a few months while I worked on the commission of a public statue of Susie the Cat for Dorchester, but I hope to resume working on this sculpture in January 2027.
The ball park price is around £11,000. Do contact me if you are interested, as the 1st of the edition is available.
