This sculpture came about from watching a TV programme about the evolution of the dog. It pointed out that the wolf and the raven had broken the species barrier, by their symbiotic hunting relationship, millennia before humans came along. This enabled us to domesticate the dog much later on.
A raven can spot a carcass miles away but cannot always rip it open. By leading a wolf to the site, both get a meal.
